Directions: Drive along Batu Ferringhi until you see The Ship and Tarbush restaurants on your right. The Hard Rock Hotel is also on the right, at about 950 meters ahead.
Info / Insights: The luxury beach resort has 250 rooms, with more than half the rooms facing the sea. Each has its own balcony while the Lagoon View rooms open directly into the pool. Unlike many of the so-called beach hotels, the Hard Rock Hotel actually sits on the beach itself. Just walk out of the pool or bar and you are standing on a sandy beach with ocean waves caressing your feet.
The new hotel has a cool retro facade but the interior is chic and modern. True to its name, the lobby counter is designed as half-bar, half reception/check-in. Its full amenities include a ballroom, meeting rooms, spa and gym. For food and drinks, there's the poolside pizzeria, Starz Diner, The Shack swim-up bar and, of course, the famous Hard Rock Cafe with live band.
The Hard Rock Hotel Penang was previously the Casuarina Beach Resort.
