Directions: From Jalan Raja Laut (Ipoh Road-bound), keep going straight at the traffic lights instead of turning left for The Mall and PWTC. At the end of the road, right after the old Federal Cinema, turn left into Jalan Ipoh where the Tan Chong (Nissan) Showroom is located. A few doors ahead on the left and next to a 7-Eleven store, is McCurry.
Info / Insights: The curry house with the Scottish-sounding prefix finally came out victorious in a long legal tussle over the unusual name. The owners insisted MC stands for Malaysian Chicken Curry. True enough, they serve Indian cuisine such as curry fish head, tandoori chicken and naan.
Ironically, as a 24-hour Indian restaurant, McCurry's main rival for the night crowd is a Bak Kut Teh shop directly opposite. It attracts loads of Indian customers but I can't remember the name now. No; it is not the classic Mungo Jerry. That one appears to be an all-Indian Bak Kut Teh restaurant these days :) Let's hope no one comes out with a McKuteh!
