Directions: From Jalan Genting Klang, turn into Jalan Usahawan and turn right at the the traffic junction where Sri Utama School is located. Enter the first gate when you see the Royal Selangor sign. The other gates ahead are for the factory and warehouse. There is adequate parking inside the compound of the Visitor Centre
Info / Insights: The world's largest pewter-ware maker now has an ultra-modern and elegant showroom befitting their world-renowned craftsmanship. Inside the beautifully designed glass-encased building is an exhibit center showcasing Royal Selangor's collection of both classic and contemporary design pewter pieces. Also on display are Selberan's gold and diamond jewellery range and Comyns' hallmarked sterling silver products. All the products displayed at the Visitors Center can be purchased from the floor itself and gift-wrapped.
Visitors can also take a guided factory tour to view the pewter-making process up-close. See in-house artisans crafting each piece by hand. Or put on an apron at the workshop known as the School Of Hard Knocks and hammer your own pewter masterpiece into shape. When you are hungry after that, head on down to the cosy cafe next to the gallery.
Founded in 1885, Royal Selangor has since been transformed into an international brand. The company is a closely held (and well run) family business currently managed by fourth generation descendents. In 1992, Selangor Pewter became Royal Selangor to reflect the royal endorsement from the Sultan Of Selangor.
Opening Hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, daily. (No appointments necessary except when participating in School of Hard Knocks or when conducting MICE events / briefings, or use of the theatrette).
