Location: Jalan Medan Bukit Indah 7, Bukit Indah, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia
Intro: MyCen Directions' Ramadan Bazaar Series documents and celebrates the many colourful bazaars of the annual fasting month (Bulan Puasa). Food appears to be an unifying factor as more and more people of different race and religion are seen mingling and shopping for food together at these places.
The sheer variety of mouth-watering delicacies, its cross-cultural appeal and the carnival-like atmosphere make this an unique Malaysian institution. Also known as 'Bazar Ramadan' or 'Pasar Juadah', the makeshift stalls usually open from around 4 pm to 7 pm daily, with many traders breaking fast on location.
Directions: Turn left at the second set of lights after Ampang Waterfront into Taman Kosas. At the end of Jalan Kosas Utama (T-junction), turn left into Jalan Indah Utama. Go up the road and turn right into Jalan Bukit Indah 2/1. On this road, Masjid Bukit Indah will be on your left and the bazaar is at the back of the shops ahead.
Info / Notes: Not the Ramadan bazaar you will bump into accidentally. The location is fairly remote and concealed by the shops. This bazaar appears to be very neat and clean. Could it be because I was there early? The trees behind it make it all the more pleasant. Roti John seems to be popular here and in the Ampang area in general.
